I have had to go through the task manager on the laptop to stop the process each time it hung in order to start over. This time I have gone through the process 3 times and it keeps hanging at 42%. These steps always got the system up and running again. I then went through the complete installation using the software, and going through it completely using the HP Print and Scan Doctor. I then rebooted the laptop, and went to the HP website and downloaded the latest install software for my unit. I then completely cleaned the registry and backups by using CCleaner.
My laptop is connected to the gateway wirelessly.Įvery other time this happened I completely removed all trace of the HP software installation, including all accesory installations, and removed the C5180 from the Printer/Scanner list on the Win10 Settings. I have the system set up through an ethernet connection to my gateway/router. I realize that the C5180 is a bit old and this problem has come up before after Win10 updates. My C5180 All-in-One stopped working after the Windows 10 Spring Update.
